Papa John Just Complained Pizza Sales Are Tanking Because Of NFL Players’ Kneeling Protests

“Papa” John Schnatter is known for two things: turning inedible pizza into a multi-billion dollar fortune and funding the most extreme of right wingcauses.
Now you can add creative excuses for his own short-comings to the list.
In a call to shareholders, Schnatter complained that weak sales, which have led Papa John’s stock to plummet 8.5 percent today, are not his fault but the fault of NFL players protesting the plague of police violence against unarmed black men and owners’ inability to control those players.
“The NFL has hurt us,” Schnatter said. “We are disappointed the NFL and its leadership did not resolve this… Leadership starts at the top, and this is an example of poor leadership.”
Apparently leadership also means pinning the blame on someone else — which is a leadership assessment you might expect from someone who supported the candidacy of Donald Trump and gave more than $30,000 dollars to the Republican Party last quarter alone.
While Schnatter is not particularly concerned by the killing of innocent people by the very people who are supposed to protect them, he does seem bothered by the people trying to stop it — so long as it affects his bottom line.
If that’s not reason for people to keep protesting, I don’t know what is.
