LOL ALERT: Global Warming Study Canceled After Humiliating Discovery!!

You can say this for bleeding-heart liberals: They certainly have a flair for the ironic.
An expedition designed to gather evidence of global warming and “climate change” in the Arctic was canceled last month after a humiliating discovery was made: There was so much ice in the Arctic that the icebreaker it was going to use was needed elsewhere.
Yes, you read that right. It’s the return of left-leaning scientists’ famous nemesis, “Reality.” And this time it affected plans for the research vessel Amundsen, which can be redirected by the Canadian Coast Guard if its icebreaking capabilities are required to clear lanes for fishing boats or supply vessels, such as oil tankers, according to the Winnipeg Free Press.
That was the case this year, when climate change activists scientists had planned to use the Amundsen to prove the globe is just getting too darn warm.
“The Science Team of the Canadian Research Icebreaker CCGS Amundsen has cancelled the first leg of the 2017 Expedition due to complications associated with the southward motion of hazardous Arctic sea ice,” the news site Science Daily reported.

Keep in mind that the Amundsen is no lightweight ship. “It’s the second most powerful icebreaker in the country and we had trouble getting through the sea ice,” David Barber, an arctic research expert, told the Free Press.
The mission wasn’t exactly cheap, either. “Timing was key for this $17 million, four-year, University of Manitoba-led project,” Science Daily explained. “The need to deal with extreme ice conditions in the south meant the ship would arrive too late on site to meet research objectives.”
Scientists connected to the planned mission stated in no uncertain terms that they had not expected the heavy ice to be present.
“It became clear to me very quickly that these weren’t just heavy ice conditions, these were unprecedented ice conditions,” Dr. David Barber, the lead scientist on the study, admitted to Vice Magazine.
“We were finding thick multi-year sea ice floes which on level ice were five meters thick … it was much, much thicker and much, much heavier than anything you would expect at that latitude and at that time of year,” he continued.
Let that sink in for a moment. Scientists were caught off guard when the true ice conditions were different from their predictions, which took place only months ago… yet they absolutely know how the climate will behave over the next 100 years.
Global warming activists are already arguing that the Amundsen’s reassignment because of increased sea ice is proof that a warming arctic is sending greater floes into the sea lanes as Arctic ice shears, and that could well be true. But that’s not the point. The point is, even climate scientists can’t predict what’s happening next summer, much less next century.
You’re a fool to doubt them. So stop asking questions!

It isn’t the first time a global warming study has been ironically halted in its tracks.
“There was the Ship of Fools expedition in which an Australian climate researcher called Chris Turkey had to call an expedition to the melting Antarctic after his ship got stuck in the ice,” recalled Breitbart News contributorJames Delingpole.
“The Caitlin Expedition – supported by the Prince of Wales – in which Pen Haddow and his team had to abandon their trip to the North Pole because it was colder than they’d expected,” he continued.
“Most recently there was Ship of Fools II, in which a global warming research voyage by David Hempleman Adams had to be curtailed because of unexpected ice.”
Have you noticed a trend?
The problem with the proponents of man-made climate change theories isn’t that they might be wrong. The real issue is the arrogance and zealotry found in people who see science not as an ongoing process, but as a religion.
There is a difference between science and “scientism.” It isn’t an all-knowing oracle that is absolutely right all of the time. In fact, theories and explanations must frequently be wrong if science is properly advancing.
The simple fact is, humans know very little about the climate cycles of our world. Recognizing that skepticism and asking challenging questions are part of good science, yet climate change radicals have made their politically fueled narrative more important than the truth.
It looks like the Arctic Ocean missed the memo and isn’t playing along with the liberal talking points. Reality has a way of being very persistent — and that’s something leftists still haven’t figured out.
